The Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers (CertPT)
is an exciting new teaching qualification awarded by Trinity College London that supports the professional development of experienced English language teachers
is a Level 6 (Ofqual) qualification, so relevant after an initial Level 5 teacher education certificate and on the way to an advanced Level 7 diploma qualification
is for teachers seeking to update, improve and enrich their professional teaching practice

Course Outline
The course aims are to provide experienced teachers with a deeper understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of the Communicative Approach to create a more communicative and effective classroom.
Modular and Asynchronous options, so you can organise when to fit the coursework into your schedule.
30 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of 100 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT)
The course content is organised into 9 sessions plus an Introduction to the Course session
The course is assessed through 4 written assignments.
Course participants develop their ability to evaluate, adapt, create and reflect on the use of context-specific teaching resources
Course Structure
MODULAR OPTION
1 online ‘live’ session with the trainers to start off the course.
1 online ‘live’ session of feedback with a trainer per assessment unit.
Course length:
Window to complete = 25 weeks (based on 4 hour per week dedicated to the course)
Fast Track Course = 10 weeks (based on 10 hour per week dedicated to the course).
Start dates October, January, and April
Access to Ardmore X platform for videos, reading texts, activities, guidance exercises, etc.
All assessment completed during the online component course.
ASYNCHRONOUS OPTION
Access to Ardmore X platform for videos, activities, guidance exercises, etc.
Feedback through the platform – written and oral.
Window to complete course between October and June.
All assessment completed during the online component course.
Skills and knowledge assessed
The skills and knowledge that you will need to demonstrate to attain the CertPT are those that will benefit you in your professional practice.
TASK 1: Candidates produce an evaluation of a printed or online teaching/training resource.
TASK 2: Candidates produce a rationale for a resource
TASK 3: Candidates produce a rationale for an original resource they have created
TASK 4: Candidates write a reflection on the use of either the adapted resource (from task 2) or the original resource (from task 3)

Exploiting teaching materials for communicative purposes.
Classroom management for Communicative Language Teaching
Dealing with language in the communicative classroom
a) an initial teacher education qualification, e.g. a Trinity CertTESOL or local state sector qualification
and/or
b) substantive teaching experience to the level that allows a candidate to complete the assessment
and
at least a B2 level in speaking, reading, writing, and listening
